Q.: Already graduated but not yet registered as architect: can participate?
A.: Yes, if still present in the student list of his/her school at the registration time

Q.: Already registered architect, but post-graduated / master student: can participate?
A.: Yes, if present in the student list of a UIA Member Section recognised school at the registration time

Q.: Landscape architect student: can participate?
A.:
Yes, if in his/her country a landscape architect has the same jurisdiction of an architect

Q.: Request of clarification regarding the deadline
A.: 
11/01/2008 was the date when the web site was activated
      25/02/2008 was the deadline to send, by email, requests of clarification
      01/02/2008 was the deadline to publish, by the Organizers, the answers to the received questions 
      March 31st 2008 is the first day to register and transmit the projects (from 16.00 GMT)
      April 8th 2008 is the deadline to register and transmit projects
(before 16.00 GMT)

Q.: Inscription procedure
A.:
It is possible to enter ONLY filling in the on line registration form, that will be available at the opening period of the telematic procedure. NO other sort of inscription (email, mail, fax, etc.) will be accepted. After registration you will receive an email containing the unique address (URL)  you must use to continue the registration and trasmission procedure.

Q.: PDF document: downloading / opening problems
A.: Please try again. Anyway the documents will also be sent by email on request. To correctly read the PDF document we recommend to download and use the latest available version of Adobe Acrobat Reader (
www.adobe.com)

Q.: Project file creation
A.: Please read instructions in the Documents section of the web site. You must send only one PDF file composed of three A3 format pages.

Q.: Maximum size of the project file
A.:
The limit on the size of the PDF file is 60 Mb, but we recommend to try to avoid going over 10-15 Mb, to minimize risks due to slow internet connections during the project transmission.

 

Q.: Project transmission
A.: Please read instructions in the Documents section of the web site. After registration you will receive an email containing the unique address (URL) that you must use to continue the registration and trasmission procedure. Using that address you will be able to access your personal page, add group members and transmit your PDF project. The project can be even sent more than one time (the last received is the valid one). We strongly recommend to anticipate the registration and trasmission, avoiding the last day. Due to the big amount of operations, we cannot assure that the server will not be too busy to satisfy your request before the closing time !

Announcements

Further prizes for the winners of TOTEM competition:
1.  Space Group, with the support of UNESCO Prize: 10 000 euro

2.  Japan Institute of Architects (JIA) Prize: 5000 US$

3.  Patrick Nelli Prize, awarded by the CIAF -  UIA French Section: 2000 euro. This prize will recompense one of the best entries in the framework of  "A natural context: sustainability": Info ecology.

4.  Louise Cox Prize: 1 500 US$

5.  Wolf Tochtermann Prize: 1000 euro

6.  Union of Architects of Russia Prize: 10 day trip to Moscow and St. Petersburg - all expenses covered, incl. return air tickets.

The CIAF, UIA French Section, offers the Patrick Nelli Prize, worth 2000 euros, to be assigned to one of the best projects in the framework of  "a natural context: sustainability".

Due to the large amount of questions received by the Organizers and the following delay in publishing the answers, the registration and submission time has been postponed from 20-27 March to 31th March - 8th April 2008.
